I'm really sick of the Brandon Flowers/ pictures of/ sex with threads and the people they're attracting, so I've closed all new comments on those. I haven't deleted or hidden the comments, but I might. We'll see.

I've also turned off the subscription notifier; until I can upgrade again, the spam module was working after the subscription module, meaning that whenever the spam bots attacked, I got 400+ messages for deleted comments. Annoying.

And a note to Brent, Tara, etc.: even your comments might get hit by the filter. Go to comments->list->spam in the administration section every now and then, and check to see if valid comments have been blocked.

All this will be a little better when I can upgrade, but the one thing that's not working in the new version of drupal is the image filter, which we use to include images in the blog posts. Once I find a workaround for that, I think we're good to go, but it'll be another messy upgrade.
